Rhum Barbancourt White Rum

I love everything that Rhum Barbancourt makes. Where I live in the American Southeast, however, Rhum Barbancourt White is very difficult to find. Just when I had lost all hope of obtaining my own bottle, I learned that Curiada ships it to my state. I ordered two bottles, which arrived in a timely manner in safe packaging.

The rum itself is delightful. It strikes a beautiful balance between grassy funk, buttery sweetness, and tropical fruitiness. All Barbancourt rums are derived from fresh cane juice, but are distilled in a manner more similar to molasses-based rums than rhum agricole. The result is a complex yet approachable spirit. Of course, Barbancourt White is an excellent mixer; I would recommend subbing it for molasses-based white rum in any cocktail which calls for it. It's a good enough to be sipped as well.
