Tasting Notes

Nose: That beeswax! Great notes of tropical fruits, caramel  with malty and sourdough like yeasty character. 

Palate: Classic creamy Paul John texture. Bourbon like honey sweetness with baking spices, barley notes. Incredibly juicy for a 40%abv whisky

Finish: Surprisingly longer than expected. A medium to long finish with velvety texture. Smooth, round with orange zest, vanilla and mango.
Production Notes

 

Paul John uses their famous six-row barley from footsteps of Himalayans which results in that creamy texture and abundance of tropical fruits. Also this whisky is important as it is the first official offspring of distillery's 2nd fill bourbon barrels.

    The high score (94) in Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible is well-deserved

    And for such a low price!! I'll always enjoy trying new single malts, but this bottle may become my new stand-by at home.

    I hate it

    Tried it neat when I first got it and described it to my brother as the taste of 1000 feet. It mixes into an interesting old fashioned with all the extra spice flavors, but that's about all I've been able to do with it. I've legitimately considered pouring it down the drain so I can use the bottle for something else. Do not recommend unless you have a very adventurous palate and want to try something new.
