Bulrush Gin
About Bulrush Gin
750ml & 88 Proof
Featured Artisan: Low Key, Good Vibes Collection
This truly small-batch, hand-crafted gin was originally crafted in Lowcountry, South Carolina, where warmth and welcome are at the heart of most everything. And this spirit is no exception.
Classic and approachable, Bulrush is a local's favorite, on the cocktail menus of excellent independent restaurants from South Carolina to Atlanta. A perfect accompaniment to hanging out by the fire or grilling in the backyard, the low-key bottle hides within it a great secret: exceptional taste, incredible balance, and a tremendous versatility.
Experience the gin that one well-respected gin expert has called, “criminally underrated.” Experience the gin that even gin-skeptics find themselves coming back to.
We're very lucky to be showcasing it on Curiada, because until now, it was only available in a few states.
"Clear color. Aromas and flavors of cinnamon rolls, watercress, fresh radish, and orange marmalade with a velvety, crisp, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a warming, intricate, medium-long finish that shows shades of coriander, gardenia, and juniper finish. A fresh, exuberant gin of the garden variety.” - Beverage Testing Institute
Tasting Notes
Bright citrus on the nose, floral on the palate. Robust Juniper, subtle perfume notes. Finishes with a soft, sweet earthiness. Designed specifically for cocktails that are both simple and complex, traditional and experimental.
Suggested Serves
This makes a very tasty G&T. The juniper is present but doesn’t overwhelm, and the floral and citrus notes are an excellent complement to the clean, refreshing taste. Garnish any number of ways. We wrote about a few more great ways to enjoy Bulrush here.
Production Notes
Hand-crafted is not just a phrase when it comes to Bulrush gin. It characterizes the labor-intensive process that goes into every bottle. Many of the ingredients used in making this gin are sourced from local producers and processed by hand, each according to the particular process that best releases its unique characteristics. That might mean hand-peeling three different types of citrus (satsuma!), or hand-muddling the herbs. Unique to most gin production, Bulrush uses both maceration processes and vapor-infusion processes, depending on the ingredient. The macerated ingredients then also go through a vapor-infusion, building an additional layer of aroma and flavor.
