A 15 Year Aged Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished for 12 Months in Ex-Tinta Negra Madeira Casks. A mashbill of 84% Corn, 8% Rye & 8% Malted Barley. Bottled at 52% ABV - Cask Strength, and Non-Chill Filtered.
Tasting Notes
On the nose: Black cherries, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, and leather with subtle nutty notes. The palate is complex, rich and full. Figs, plums, and stone fruits followed by dark chocolate and red fruits.
Suggested Serves
Best served neat, or with a single cube. Also makes for a fantastic Old Fashioned or Manhattan.
Production Notes
This finish, at 12 months, was extended to allow the characters of the Madeira to fully oxidize into the whiskey; with 4 full seasons, finishing in Kentucky, letting the wood grain expand and contract, then resting for an additional 4 months in stainless steel.
