Cocktail Description

This ruby-red beauty takes the sophisticated bones of a Metropolitan and gives it a fruit-forward twist that'll make you forget all about its more famous cousin, the Cosmopolitan.

The Cherry Metropole blends Hennessy cognac's warming grape notes with the herbal complexity of Dubonnet Rouge and the deep cherry sweetness of Heering liqueur, while blood orange and lemon juices add bright acidity that keeps everything balanced and refreshing. It's a drink that tastes like autumn in a glass—rich and fruity but never cloying, with enough tartness to keep you coming back for another sip. The shake-and-strain technique makes this one accessible for home bartenders of all skill levels, though you'll want to shake vigorously to properly chill and dilute the spirit-forward base. Serve this at a dinner party when you want something elegant that feels special, or mix one up on a crisp fall evening when you're craving something more interesting than your usual cocktail rotation. The drink's fruity profile and balanced acidity make it a natural partner for charcuterie boards, duck confit, or even a rich chocolate dessert. That Luxardo cherry sitting at the bottom isn't just for looks—save it for the final bite as your reward for a job well done.
