Cocktail Description

The Cognac Mule takes everything you love about the Moscow Mule and gives it a sophisticated French twist that'll make you wonder why you ever settled for vodka.

This highball builds on Hennessy V.S. Cognac's fruity, oaky character, brightened by fresh lime juice and balanced with cane syrup and a few dashes of Angostura bitters before being topped with spicy ginger beer. The result is a drink that's both refreshing and rich, with layers of flavor that keep your palate engaged from first sip to last—think warming ginger heat meeting cognac's grape-based sweetness, all lifted by citrus and aromatic spice. It's perfect for those evenings when you want something lively but refined, whether you're hosting a casual dinner party or unwinding after a long week. The cocktail is easy enough for home bartenders to nail on the first try, requiring just a quick shake and a gentle stir, and it pairs beautifully with spiced dishes like jerk chicken, Thai curry, or even a cheese board featuring aged Gruyère and spicy chorizo. The mint garnish adds a fresh aromatic note that makes each sip feel like a mini celebration. Serve this when you want to show off a bit without breaking a sweat.
