Cocktail Description

This frothy, apple-forward sipper brings the orchards of France right to your glass with a creamy, spiced finish that'll make you rethink everything you know about Calvados cocktails.

The General Harrison's Nogg combines the rustic elegance of aged Calvados with medium-dry apple cider, creating layers of apple flavor that range from bright and fresh to deep and complex. The whole egg gets shaken into silky submission, giving the drink a velvety texture that coats your palate, while Peychaud's Bitters adds subtle anise notes and a rosy blush beneath the foam. A grating of fresh nutmeg on top brings warming spice that plays beautifully with the apple and Calvados. This isn't a quick shake-and-strain situation—you'll need a specialized fizz shaker designed for carbonation to properly emulsify that egg and achieve the signature frothy crown. The result tastes like autumn in a glass: crisp apples, gentle sweetness, and warming spices with a luxurious mouthfeel. Serve this at a fall brunch or after dinner when you want something rich but not overly sweet, and pair it with sharp cheeses, roasted pork, or apple tart to echo those orchard flavors.
