View RecipesI know a lot of folks up here have said that Faccia Brutto makes a decent alternative to Green Chartreuse. As a CSS in training and an AVID fan of the Last Word and Yellowjacket, I actually prefer Faccia Brutto. In both cocktails, Brutto presents a more balanced option.

One of my ATF drinks is a Last Word. Since green Chartreuse is impossible to find, I wanted to see if it would be a good alternative. I was pleasantly surprised! I feel it's a solid alternative, and I would highly recommend it as well.
While Faccia Bruto does not have the gravitas or aged depth of flavor that Chartreuse has, I find that my 'Last Word' cocktails are nearly as good as their Chartreuse counterparts. My wife, in blind taste tests, noticed the difference but just barely. Until I can find Chartreuse again, this will be my go to substitute.
