Yellowstone Select may not compete with the $2500-a-bottle spirits of the world, but it's still perfect in its own way, much like The Princess Bride may not be the best movie ever, but it is a perfect movie in its own way. This whiskey proves to be accessible to untrained palates but still flavorful and nuanced enough to be appreciated when sipping neat or on the rocks. It is still robust enough to stand out in most cocktails you might add it to, even if you were to mix it with Coke (although to do so might be an insult to the company, in my opinion). While it is priced slightly higher than some other whiskeys next to it on the shelf, it is well worth the few extra dollars. Accessible, versatile, and brimming with character: these are the traits that render this whiskey an undervalued gem in this liquor market.

I highly recommend using this to make the Lodge Pole Sling that Greg from How To Drink invented, but this bourbon holds up fantastically in an old fashioned or paper plane, as well!
