Seriously, if you splurge on one rum in the first half of the year, this is the one! It has a great mix of familiar rum love with some spikes in flavors you don’t see (for me it was the cola… almost a spiked cherry coke as it goes from palette to finish)

This 3-year-old molasses-based rum from Vanuatu's first distillery, 83 Islands, is tropically aged in virgin American oak barrels. What's particularly fascinating is that the distillery had to help local farmers clear land and start growing sugarcane from scratch, using heirloom Vanuatuan cane varieties to create a truly unique island terroir in their rum.

Dead Reckoning 83 Islands Vanuatu Rum is made from sugarcane grown by local farmers who were initially offered 8 times the market price to cultivate this new crop, kickstarting Vanuatu's first-ever rum industry.

The rum is produced using heirloom Vanuatuan sugarcane varieties, making it one of the few spirits in the world that truly captures the unique terroir of a remote Pacific island archipelago.

This rum represents a collaboration between three continents: distilled in Vanuatu (Oceania), bottled by an Australian company (Dead Reckoning), and distributed to markets in the UK (Europe) and US (North America) through specialized rum societies.
