A wonderful rum for cocktails, specifically mojitos and daquiris. However, I will say that it is not the best as a rum and coke, but other than that, it's one that I will be ordering again.
There is something just not quite right with this rum. It is not bad and it will definitely fill some people's taste, but for me it has a flavor that does not mix well with daiquiris or with a rum old fashioned. It is another that I think would do well in mojitos and tiki style drinks but not my taste for sipping or daiquiri.
For comparison my favorites for daiquiris right now is foursquare, copalli white, and plantation. For old fashioneds, it is more in the Appleton, mount gay and Hamilton ranges so you have a taste comparison.
Unfortunately, the rest of the family tasted this and just said "no." We have not made a pina colada or frozen tiki or restaurant style daiquiri with it yet but I suspect it will be good in those.
