• Midori's iconic neon green color doesn't come from artificial dyes. It's derived naturally from Japanese Yubari and Musk melons, which are infused into the liqueur during production.
• The name "Midori" means "green" in Japanese, but it was originally launched as "Hermes Melon Liqueur" in 1978. A trademark dispute with the fashion house forced a quick name change before its U.S. debut at New York's Studio 54.
