Won Soju Original is a Soju  crafted in South Korea .

Won Soju Original offers a modern twist on Korea's national spirit, crafted using traditional methods but with a California touch. Interestingly, it's made with a unique blend of rice and grape spirits, resulting in a smoother, more approachable soju that's only 23% ABV - significantly lower than typical Korean sojus which often clock in at 40% or higher.

Why We Love It

Won Soju Original stands out in the spirits world as a modern, premium take on Korea's national drink, crafted with a blend of rice and barley. Unlike traditional soju, which can be harsh and one-dimensional, Won Soju Original offers a smoother, more refined experience with subtle notes of pear and melon, making it an excellent base for elevated cocktails or a delightful sipper on its own.

    I apparently DO like soju!

I've only ever had the basic stuff like Jinro and its ilk. They're always cheap grain alcohol and sugar tasting, and I've never been able to finish a bottle. This actually tastes like a gentle, clean grain spirit that is absolutely lovely neat. It's extremely dry but not bone dry. I wouldn't mix with it, it's a very gentle flavor on its own, but maybe in an old fashioned with some ginger or yuzu bitters.

If you've never had soju or only had the cheap stuff, try this. totally different, but in an "oh THIS is how it's supposed to taste" way
