Bottled at a formidable 55.7% ABV, it masterfully combines molasses based rums from Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana, and Jamaica to create a remarkably deep and robust spirit.
It perfectly captures the powerful yet balanced profile of a true naval rum. The blend is meticulously structured with 43% Barbados rum for smoothness, 36% Trinidad rum for structure, 17% Guyana rum for rich intensity, and 4% Jamaica rum for bold esters. It is a highly authentic, complex, and uncompromised overproof rum.
Its robust proof and deep flavor make it an outstanding choice for classic tiki and naval cocktails. Its absolute best application is as the base in a traditional Navy Grog or a strong Rum Punch. It also opens up beautifully when sipped neat with a single drop of water.

I and my tasting buddy get more richness & complexity smoky, tobacco, tar, dark fruits, tropical fruits, from No.1 an obvious molasses rum with some pot still characteristic shining through Blended Navy strength pot & column extra aging
As title suggests this is the only rum to use to make a Black Anchor taste proper.

A superb and complex rum, displaying distinct pot-still complexity (and a delightful yet balanced funk edge from the Jamaican component). I sipped what I've had of mind, but it would be a shame not to make at least one daiquiri with this stuff, and I can see the largeness of this rum holding up beautifully in a punch. A sipper for sure, but keep a rough count of how many times you refill your tumbler!
Good taste. It’s very kola nut forward with some spice. Heavier molasses note than most of the rums in this style. Closest rum I’ve tasted is Lost Spirits (RIP) navy.
Mixes well and hides proof in a drink really well. Present but not overpowering.
