Planteray Stiggins' Fancy Pineapple Rum is a Flavored Rum from the Planteray Rum brand crafted in Barbados.

Rinds of the exquisite Queen Victoria pineapple are peeled by hand and infused with Planteray 3 Stars White Rum for one week, then pot distilled into a fragrant elixir. Separately, the ripe flesh of this most royal of fruit is infused in Planteray Original Dark Rum for 3 months, before slowly marrying both components in French oak. Pineapple aroma leaps out of Stiggins’ Fancy, underpinned by robust caramel and molasses notes. The rum has a deep texture with light peppered spices backed by a pleasing bitterness and roasted pineapple character. It's perfect in a Daiquiri.

Why We Love It

It relies on authentic fruit instead of artificial flavorings. The result is a naturally rich and complex spirit with a genuine pineapple profile. It perfectly balances the sweetness of tropical fruit with the underlying spice and structure of aged rum.

How to Drink It

It is a remarkable tool for cocktail making. Its best application is adding a sophisticated tropical element to classic recipes like the Daiquiri or the Piña Colada. It is also exceptional simply poured over a large ice cube.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich tropical bouquet of ripe pineapple, peach, and citrus peel mixed with warm notes of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Ripe banana, fresh pineapple, and subtle baking spices. The texture is rich and beautifully balanced.

Finish: Satisfying and long, leaving traces of vanilla, roasted pineapple, and a touch of smoky oak.

How It's Made

The production requires two separate processes. The rinds of Victoria pineapples are infused in Planteray 3 Stars rum and then distilled in a traditional pot still. The flesh of the fruit is separately infused in Planteray Original Dark rum. Finally, the true pineapple distillate and the dark rum fruit infusion are carefully blended together.

Fun Facts

  • The name honors Reverend Stiggins, a character from Charles Dickens' book The Pickwick Papers whose favorite drink was pineapple rum.
  • It was originally created as a limited release for the 2014 Tales of the Cocktail festival before overwhelming demand made it a permanent offering.
  • The process exclusively uses Victoria pineapples, a specific variety highly prized for its intense aroma and natural sweetness.

    Adds a unique element

This pineapple rum adds that certain something to a drink that you can't find anywhere else. So far I've used this in a Pineapple Paralysis, and it was gooood.

Fantastic in a Plantation Rum Punch

One of my favorite rums under the Planteray Rum lineup. Not too sweet and packed with tropical flavor. Highly recommend it as a delicious twist on the classic Plantation Rum Punch.

My favorite Plantation Rum Punch recipe:

    .75 oz. Fresh Lemmon Juice

.75 oz. Grenadine (homemade is best)

    3 oz. Fresh Orange Juice

3 oz. Planteray Stiggins' Fancy Pineapple Rum

    2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Shake with Ice & Dump Pour

    And you're welcome! :-)

    No Fake Pineapple 🍍

This rum is spot on! There is no fake candy taste and the pineapple notes are very subtle making this a nice quality infused rum. I was able to get a smokey version too and also very light on the smoke and pineapple which I appreciated. Makes a great spicy daquiri with fire tincture!
