Rum Fire Overproof Jamaican Rum is a Light Rum  crafted in Jamaica .

Rum Fire Overproof Jamaican Rum is a bold, unaged white rum that packs a serious punch at 126 proof (63% ABV). This potent spirit is produced using a unique fermentation process that involves wild yeast and dunder pits, resulting in a funky, fruity flavor profile that's prized by rum enthusiasts and mixologists alike. Fun fact: Rum Fire is made at the historic Hampden Estate, which has been producing rum since 1753 and still uses many of the same techniques from over 250 years ago, including fermenting in open-air wooden vats and distilling in pot stills.

Why We Love It

Rum Fire Overproof Jamaican Rum stands out for its intense, funky flavors and high proof (126), making it a powerhouse ingredient in tiki drinks and rum cocktails. This unaged white rum is produced using wild fermentation with native yeasts and dunder pits, resulting in a bold, ester-rich spirit with notes of overripe fruit, diesel fuel, and tropical funk that captures the essence of Jamaica's most traditional rum-making methods.

Like J. Wray and Nephew only more so because it’s Hampden

I love this stuff. The CHEESE on the front end, the pineapple, the banana; great. I love a little to perk up a cocktail. I love it just as it is in a classic Daiquiri. Amazing value from my very favorite rum distillery.

The funkiest unaged molasses rum out there

This stuff defines the term hogo. It takes a bit to get used to, but once you do, the intense overripe fruit and industrial notes that travel across your entire house when you crack open the bottle become irresistible. It works well in daiquiris, mojitos, and anything with passionfruit, either as a split-base or a whole 2oz

Amazing daiquiri rum, overproof but no rubbing alcohol flavor. Very funky, very fruity

Worst label ever for an incredible overproof

The lame label almost made me avoid it, it really screams "rot gut"

Glad I didn't. It's funky and banana-y, with a lot of banana and fresh sugarcane flavors. It's not smith and cross funky, but about 75% of the way there. More ripe banana than rotting banana. I find smith and cross to kind of overpower cocktails, and this actually plays nice with other spirits and ingredients. This and lemonhart 151 are now my go-to overproof rums.

It also makes a mean split base old fashioned with a gentler rum like plantation 3 star.
