This rum is what white overproofs strive to be: bold, flavorful, hot yet smooth and refreshing. There is a strong not so overripe banana flavor with sweet brown sugar notes on the nose. The mouth is an explosion of warm fruity flavors and the finish goes on for days with a warmth that will leave you wanting even more. Strong banana flavor throughout, always a plus. I highly recommend with no reservations
The obvious question is this: is it as good as Wray & Nephew White Overproof? I would argue, yes, but...
There are a lot of similar flavors and aromas but it's definitely not Wray & Nephew on its own. It has its own unique taste that is reminiscent but not identical, which is good. I don't want a copy cat knock off, I want a unique experience in a bottle. The flavors offered are fantastic unto itself and you can and should use this rum for recipes calling for white overproofs.
That said, in a Wray & Ting, you'd be very hard pressed to distinguish this from Wray, which for some may be the greatest endorsement.
