The liqueur's creator, Kurt Charron, was inspired to make Chareau after tasting his wife's homemade aloe vera juice. He spent three years perfecting the recipe in his garage, experimenting with over 600 different combinations before settling on the final blend.

Despite its clear appearance, Chareau contains no artificial coloring. The natural chlorophyll from the aloe vera is removed during production, resulting in a crystal-clear liqueur that won't change the color of cocktails—a feature highly prized by mixologists for its versatility in drink creation.
