I wanted a bottle of Laird’s Straight Apple Brandt because of the history of the distillery and almost all of the recipes I’ve seen for a Jack Rose use the bottled in bond. I was concerned because when I got the shipment, the bottle seal was cracked the cap was partially unscrewed. The liquor leaked into (and through) the box. There was a strong alcohol smell. I was worried that a cocktail would be overpowering. But it was even better than the cocktails I’ve mixed with the blended applejack.
And Joey is a great guy! When I contacted Curiada about the damaged shipment, Joey was prompt and responsive and had a new bottle out to me straightaway. I will absolutely be back to order the hard to find bottles for my home bar.
