This full-flavor blend of pot and continuous still rums was blended to complement tiki drinks as an ingredient and as a float on your favorite rum cocktail.
Hamilton 151 Overproof Demerara Rum shines brightest in tiki style drinks.
Nose: Rich molasses and burnt sugar dominate, backed by oak and vanilla. Hints of tropical fruit like banana and pineapple emerge.
Palate: Ripe, dark fruit, brown spices and smoky tobacco.
Finish: Long and warming. Lingering notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and dried fruits.
After tasting scores of samples, the producer settled on this blend that balances a high proof with the ripe, dark fruit, brown spices and smoky tobacco that have made Demerara rums leaders in the industry for more than 350 years. These rums are imported in 1000 liter pallet tanks at 77% ABV then diluted with filtered (reverse osmosis) wellwater in Westfield, NY. After being reduced to 151 proof, some of the rum is bottled as Hamilton Demerara Overproof Rum. The balance of the bulk rum was diluted to 86 proof with the same filtered water over five days.

.25 oz gold rum, like Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Gold Rum
1 teaspoon grenadine, like Liber & Co. Real Grenadine
1 teaspoon chai syrup*
fresh mint and a curry leaf
Prepare the chai syrup ahead of time. Let cool to room temperature before using.
Add all the ingredients to a julep cup and fill the cup with crushed ice.
Combine with a swizzle stick.
Garnish with a sprig of mint and a curry leaf.
