After months of tasting and retasting, Anthony Schmidt and Ed Hamilton confirmed this blend of 85% Guyana and 15% Jamaican Pot Still Rum from the Worthy Park Estate as the blend that would stand up to the most exotic tiki drinks being poured at False Idol in San Diego.
Hamilton False Idol 151 Full Strength Rum shines in tropical cocktails that call for a potent overproof rum, adding depth and a fiery kick to classic tiki drinks. While it's traditionally mixed into cocktails, adventurous drinkers might enjoy it neat or with a single ice cube on a hot summer evening, paired with spicy Caribbean dishes or rich desserts that can stand up to its intense flavors.
Nose: Molasses, brown sugar, and vanilla leap from the glass. Dried tropical fruits like banana and pineapple mingle with warm baking spices. A hint of oak and a subtle smokiness round out the aroma.

View RecipesSo far I’ve used this in mostly the same places I use OFTD. This is quite good however given the option, I prefer OFTD. If for example you’re anti-Planteray over politics, this is a good option. I frequently sip OFTD with ice but I did not enjoy this on the rocks.
