Production Notes
The Albion "AW" mark was originally produced at the defunct Albion Estate distillery in Guyana on the historic Port Mourant double wooden vat still. This rare style of rum is now distilled at Diamond, the only remaining distillery in Guyana. The AW has a lighter profile than the traditional PM mark also produced on the still.
The double wooden vat still on which AW is produced began its tenure at the Port Mourant estate, established in 1732. Its cylindrical vats are made from ultra dense Guyanese greenheart wood staves, attached to a copper neck, and the rum from this still was an important component of the British Royal Navy blend.
