Tapatio Tequila Blanco
About Tapatio Tequila Blanco
A traditional, hand-crafted spirit, a cult favorite in Mexico for more than 80 years. Made by the Camarena family at the revered La Alteña Distillery where they also produce other worthy spirits, like El Tesoro.
Tasting Notes
Hints of mint and anise on the nose, followed by white pepper, cinnamon and clove. Cooked agave, mint, pepper, and the sweet touch of white chocolate on the palate. Complex, rounded flavor with spicy sweetness on the finish, as it lingers.
Suggested Serves
Try this: take your favorite Mojito recipe and swap Tapatio Blanco for rum. Cheers!

Production Notes
This artisanal tequila is made following the process used by the Camarena family for 3 generations.
It starts with 100% estate-grown Tequilana Weber agave, harvested when between 6-8 years old from ranches owned by the family.
After harvest, the agave is cleaned, prepared, and loaded into stone ovens for slow cooking. The cooked agave is then crushed, separating the liquid honey from the solid materials, which are reused as organic compost. Fermentation takes place in open wood vats with native wild yeast providing the alchemical kickstart that turns the juice into alcohol and imparts so many delicious flavors. Two distillations follow. Nothing whatsoever is added, and the Blanco is bottled immediately.
