Cocktail Description

This isn't your grandmother's martini—it's a garden party in a glass that brings vodka into sharp, herbaceous focus.

The Basil & Thyme Martini takes the clean canvas of Ketel One Vodka and paints it with fresh basil's peppery sweetness and lime's bright acidity, all balanced by the round, gentle sweetness of Giffard's cane syrup. The muddled basil releases aromatic oils without turning bitter, while that elegant thyme sprig garnish adds a subtle woodsy note with each sip. This cocktail tastes like summer evenings and sophisticated garden gatherings, with an herbal complexity that makes it feel special without being fussy. It's moderately easy to make—you'll need fresh herbs and a gentle hand with the muddling to avoid bitterness—but the payoff is worth the minor effort. Serve this beauty before dinner as an aperitif, or alongside lighter fare like grilled fish, fresh mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes, or herb-crusted chicken. The herbal notes also make it a natural companion to Mediterranean dishes featuring olive oil, lemon, and fresh vegetables.
