Cocktail Description

The Venetian Mule takes the familiar ginger-kick of a Moscow Mule and whisks it away to the canals of Italy, trading spicy beer for the herbal sweetness of Galliano.

This elegant riff on a classic brings together clean vodka, bright lime juice, and the distinctive vanilla-anise notes of Galliano Autentico, balanced with a touch of sugar cane syrup. The result is a surprisingly smooth and sophisticated drink that tastes like a sunset over the Grand Canal—herbaceous, citrusy, and just complex enough to keep you guessing. Unlike its copper-cupped cousin, this version gets shaken and served up in a coupe, making it feel dressed up for a special evening out. The drink works beautifully as a pre-dinner sipper or as a refreshing option when you want something different from the usual suspects at a cocktail party.

Making it requires only basic shaking skills and a fine strainer, so it's well within reach of home bartenders who can handle fresh citrus. The bright, herbaceous profile pairs wonderfully with light seafood dishes like crudo or grilled shrimp, and it also complements creamy pasta dishes where its citrus cut can balance richer flavors.
