Cocktail Description

This isn't your backyard bourbon sipper—it's what happens when Southern tradition puts on a tuxedo and learns French.

The Cognac Champagne Julep takes the classic mint-and-ice template and gives it serious elegance, swapping whiskey for smooth Hennessy V.S. and topping the whole affair with Perrier Jouet Grand Brut. You'll get those familiar cooling mint notes up front, followed by the gentle grape sweetness of cognac, a whisper of spice from Angostura bitters, and then that lively champagne lift that keeps everything bright and festive. It's refreshing but refined, with enough complexity to keep you coming back for another sip. This drink shines at celebratory brunches, garden parties, or any time you want to feel fancy without being stuffy—Kentucky Derby meets New Year's Eve. The technique requires a bit of confidence with the shaker throw, but nothing a home bartender can't handle with a little practice. Pair it with oysters, smoked salmon blinis, or delicate finger sandwiches—anything that won't compete with those botanical bubbles.
