What is the history of Del Maguey Mezcal?

Founded by Ron Cooper in 1995, Del Maguey Mezcal takes pride in translating the centuries-old Mezcal-making tradition into each of their products. Cooper, a dedicated artist himself, was captivated by the profound rituals and deep reverence for nature involved in the Mezcal production process during his visits to remote Zapotec villages. In collaboration with local Zapotec Mexican Indian producers known as palenqueros, Cooper launched Del Maguey with a mission to preserve the ancient production methods and highlight the extraordinary diversity of Oaxacan Mezcal.
