The Holmes Cay Fiji 2015 10 Year edition is an aged pot still molasses rum from South Pacific Distilleries in Lautoka, Fiji, and the Florida Rum Society’s first-ever Fiji barrel selection. Exclusive aging in an American oak ex-rum barrel highlights the distillery’s characteristic flavors. This barrel spent one year in Fiji, six years in the UK and three additional years in New York state. Distillation and aging alone create the Fiji 2015 edition’s complex flavors. No sugar, no color and no other flavors have been added.

    Holmes Cay Fiji 10 Year – An Outstanding Rum

    This is, by far, my favorite rum I have tried to date. What really sets it apart for me is the beautiful woody character and the lingering finish that keeps me coming back for another sip. I especially enjoy the tropical fruit notes, particularly banana and pineapple, along with the earthy funk that makes this rum so distinctive. The flavors come together in a way that makes every sip enjoyable, and the finish is something truly special.

    The only other rum I have tried so far that I put in the same league is Hamilton FRS. I am still relatively new to the rum world, with only about four years of exploring, and I know I have many more rums to discover. That makes this hobby even more exciting!

    I will genuinely be sad when this release is no longer available. Until then, I plan to enjoy every last drop. If this is any indication of what the world of rum has to offer, I have a lot to look forward to. Cheers!
