Cocktail Description

When the spicy kick of ginger beer meets the refined depth of cognac and the cooling essence of cucumber and mint, you get a mule that's far more sophisticated than its vodka-based cousin.

The Cognac Garden Mule brings together the warming complexity of Hennessy V.S. with fresh cucumber and mint that's muddled to release their bright, garden-fresh qualities. Velvet Falernum adds a subtle spiced sweetness while lime juice and cane syrup balance everything beautifully, and the ginger beer provides that signature mule fizz with a peppery bite. The result tastes refreshing and layered—simultaneously cooling and warming, with cognac's grape-based richness playing against crisp vegetal notes and aromatic mint. This makes a perfect warm-weather sipper when you want something more refined than a typical highball, ideal for late afternoon garden parties or evening gatherings on the patio. The drink isn't particularly difficult to make if you're comfortable with a muddler and shaker, though it does require some fresh ingredients and specialty items like Velvet Falernum. For food pairings, think grilled shrimp skewers with herbs, Vietnamese spring rolls, spicy Thai salads, or even charcuterie boards featuring duck pâté and mild cheeses that won't overwhelm the drink's delicate cucumber notes.
