Cold Weather Cocktails: Cafe Don Juan
When it's cold outside, and you're hunkered down inside, here's another reason to brew up a cup of coffee with some extra goodies to spice things up.
A double the pleasure dose of coffee flavor and the sweet, molasses notes of aged rum give this drink depth and warmth.
Ingredients
3/4 oz aged rum (or spiced rum, coconut rum, overproof rum -- the possibilities are vast!)
1 oz Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur
5 oz brewed coffee, regular strength
Whipped cream, to taste
sugar, to taste
1 oz Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur
5 oz brewed coffee, regular strength
Whipped cream, to taste
sugar, to taste
Method
Rim a heat-proof mug with lemon juice and sugar. Stir in rum, coffee liqueur, and just-brewed coffee. Add sugar, up to 1 tsp, as needed. (A spiced rum will likely not need as much sugar, or any, as a no-sugar-added Jamaican or Barbados rum.) Top with whipped cream to your satisfaction. Dust with cocoa powder or grate chocolate on top.
