Level Up Your Cocktail Game: The Yellow Jacket

We have Jason Kosmas and Dushan Zaric of famed Employees Only in New York to thank for this terrific tequila cocktail, which features some less-than-usual spirits. The combination of sweet floral notes and herbaceous fennel with the underlying richness of aged agave offers layers of balanced and intriguing flavor.

This is the type of cocktail that goes beyond the basics. Perfect when you want a drink that is easy to make but also a "wow" on taste. So go ahead, wow 'em.

The Yellow Jacket

2 oz ElVelo Reposado Tequila (a terrific value!)
1 oz St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
.75 oz Yellow Chartreuse
1 dash Regan's Orange Bitters
lemon twist for garnish

Method

Put all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice and stir for 40 revolutions. (Love that precision!) Pour into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
