Nose: Fresh juniper and citrus zest from the gin mingle with Campari's distinctive herbal and bitter orange aromas. Hints of coriander and angelica root add complexity.

Palate: Bold and bittersweet. Juniper-forward gin flavors balance Campari's intense bitterness. Notes of grapefruit peel, herbs, and subtle spice create a layered taste. The gin's smooth texture softens Campari's edge.

Finish: Long and pleasantly bitter. Lingering notes of orange peel and aromatic herbs. A subtle warmth from the gin's alcohol content. Leaves the palate refreshed with a gentle astringency, inviting another sip.

The Negroni Cocktail Set featuring Campari and Bulldog Gin combines two distinct spirits with rich histories. Campari, an iconic Italian bitter aperitif, is made from a closely guarded recipe of herbs and fruit, while Bulldog Gin showcases a unique blend of botanicals including dragon eye, poppy, and lotus leaves, all distilled in traditional copper pot stills.

  • The Negroni cocktail owes its existence to a mistake! In 1919, Count Camillo Negroni asked for his Americano to be strengthened with gin instead of soda water. The bartender accidentally used too much gin, creating the now-iconic equal-parts recipe.
  • Bulldog Gin, often used in modern Negronis, contains exotic botanicals like dragon eye and lotus leaves. These Asian ingredients pay homage to the drink's Italian roots, as Marco Polo first introduced Asian spices to Italy during his travels.
  • Campari's signature red color originally came from carmine dye, made from crushed cochineal insects. In 2006, Campari switched to artificial coloring, making the Negroni unexpectedly vegan-friendly (as long as you choose a vegan-friendly gin like Bulldog).
  • Main Ingredient: Campari

A good combo if you like Campari

Shipment has some trouble due to delivery service error but got here finally. A good combo for some good cocktails. Be aware though that Campari is an “acquired” taste. A very interesting taste profile but a bit bitter and funky at the end. Overall not too bad.
