Cocktail Description

This martini turns the classic template on its head with fresh basil, tropical pineapple, and a whisper of orange bitters that brings the whole drink into focus.

The Basil & Bitters Gin Martini drinks like a summer garden party dropped into a chilled glass—fragrant basil mingles with bright pineapple juice while Beefeater's juniper backbone keeps things structured and botanical. Giffard's sugar cane syrup adds a subtle sweetness that doesn't overpower, and those few dashes of Angostura Orange Bitters tie the herbal and fruity elements together with unexpected sophistication. It's an ideal choice for warm-weather gatherings, outdoor dinners, or any time you want something refreshing that still feels grown-up and elegant. The cocktail requires just a touch of muddling finesse—you're bruising the basil, not pulverizing it—but otherwise shakes together quickly for anyone comfortable with basic bartending technique. Pair this one with light summer fare like grilled shrimp skewers, fresh spring rolls, or a delicate caprese salad where the basil in your glass can echo the basil on your plate. The pineapple wedge garnish isn't just for show—it reinforces the tropical notes and gives you something to nibble between sips.
