Cocktail Description

This effervescent French-meets-garden charmer transforms cognac into something light, floral, and utterly refreshing.

The French Bloom Fizz combines the warming, grape-driven depth of Hennessy V.S. with the delicate floral sweetness of St-Germain elderflower liqueur, brightened by fresh lemon juice and lengthened with bubbly tonic water. The result tastes like springtime in a glass—honeyed cognac richness softened by elderflower's gentle blooms, with citrus providing a crisp backbone and tonic adding a quinine-tinged sparkle. It's surprisingly easy to make: just shake three ingredients, strain over ice, top with tonic, and twist some lemon zest over the top. This drink shines during warm-weather gatherings, garden parties, or as a sophisticated brunch option when you want something more interesting than the usual suspects. The floral, fruity profile pairs beautifully with soft cheeses, charcuterie, smoked salmon on crostini, or light seafood dishes like shrimp cocktail or oysters. Served in a wine glass, it feels elegant without being fussy—a drink that looks as good as it tastes.
