Cocktail Description

This sparkling riff on the classic Sidecar takes everything you love about the original—the smooth richness of Cognac, the bright citrus punch, the orange liqueur depth—and stretches it tall with a refreshing fizz.

The Alabazam delivers warming Cognac notes softened by effervescent club soda, while Grand Marnier adds a sophisticated orange sweetness that plays beautifully against fresh lemon juice. The sugar cane syrup rounds out the tartness without making things cloying, and a few dashes of Angostura Orange Bitters tie everything together with aromatic complexity. This Collins-style drink is surprisingly straightforward to make—just shake, strain, and top with soda—making it perfect for both casual weekend gatherings and more refined dinner parties. The bright, bubbly character makes it ideal for brunch, pre-dinner aperitifs, or warm afternoon sipping on the patio. Try pairing it with oysters, smoked salmon, roasted chicken, or creamy cheeses like brie or triple-cream varieties that won't overwhelm the drink's delicate balance. The lengthened format means you can savor it slowly while the fizz keeps things lively from first sip to last.
