Cocktail Description

The Gin Ginger Collins turns up the heat on the classic Tom Collins by adding fresh muddled ginger that transforms this familiar favorite into something with real bite and personality.

This is a refreshing, effervescent cocktail where the crisp botanicals of London Dry gin meet the spicy warmth of fresh ginger root, balanced by tart lime juice and sweetened just enough with cane syrup before being lengthened with club soda. The muddling releases essential oils from the ginger, creating a zingy backbone that runs through every sip, making it more assertive than your typical Collins but still wonderfully drinkable. It's moderately easy to make—the only real work is muddling the ginger and juicing fresh limes, which takes maybe five minutes total. This drink shines during warm weather gatherings, weekend brunches, or anytime you want something that feels both classic and a little adventurous. The ginger's spice makes it a natural partner for Asian cuisine, particularly Thai or Vietnamese dishes with lemongrass and chili, and it also holds up beautifully alongside grilled seafood, spicy tacos, or even rich pork belly where the carbonation and citrus cut through the fat.
