Cocktail Description

This sophisticated riff on the classic whiskey sour swaps brown spirits while adding a seductive raspberry twist that transforms the drink into something plush and elegant.

The Cognac Velvet Sour balances Hennessy's fruity, oak-kissed warmth with Chambord's rich black raspberry notes, brightened by fresh lemon juice and smoothed with cane syrup. The reverse dry shake technique creates a silky, cloud-like foam cap that gives the drink its name and luxurious mouthfeel. Angostura bitters dotted on top add aromatic complexity and visual appeal. This is a moderately challenging cocktail requiring proper shaking technique and fresh ingredients, but the stunning results make it worth the effort. Serve this beauty at dinner parties or special occasions when you want to impress guests with your bartending skills. The drink's fruity richness pairs wonderfully with soft cheeses, duck confit, or dark chocolate desserts. Sip it slowly in a chilled coupe glass to appreciate how the velvety texture and layered flavors unfold with each taste.
