Cocktail Description

This isn't your grandmother's G&T—it's a silky, garden-fresh riff that turns the highball classic into a sophisticated sipper.

The Gin & Tonic Sour marries the crisp botanical punch of Beefeater with the bright bitterness of Suze and muddled cucumber for a drink that tastes like spring in a glass, complete with a frothy crown and a whisper of black pepper across the top. Lemon juice brings citrus zing while the sugar cane syrup smooths out the edges, creating a balanced sour that's refreshing without being too tart. The double shake technique—first with ice, then dry—builds that luxurious foam cap that makes this cocktail feel special, though it does require a bit more effort than simply building over ice. Serve this at a weekend brunch or as a palate-awakening aperitif before dinner, especially when you want to impress guests who think they've tried every gin drink under the sun. The vegetal freshness pairs beautifully with light fare like oysters, smoked salmon, or a simple goat cheese salad, though it's equally at home alongside ceviche or cucumber tea sandwiches.
