The Foggy NIght Swizzle takes the classic swizzle template and nudges it in the direction of something darker, richer, and a little moodier. Traditionally, swizzles are all about crushed ice, fresh citrus, and an easygoing rhythm—tall glasses, tropical refreshment, and a drink that seems to disappear faster than you expect. This one keeps that structure, but trades sunshine for shadows.
Planteray Mister Fogg #2 sits at the center, bringing a layered rum profile that leans warm and aromatic rather than light and breezy. It’s a natural fit for a swizzle that wants more depth. Chocolate liqueur adds a soft, bittersweet richness, while roasted pineapple juice brings fruit that’s been pushed just a little further—less juice box, more rich carmelization, browned sugar, and a tinge of bitter. The roasting step matters here; it gives the drink a roundness that fresh pineapple alone can’t manage.
Cinnamon syrup and fresh lime pull the whole thing back into balance, keeping the drink lively and bright enough to stay refreshing, even as the flavors deepen. Swizzling aerates everything into a light, frosty texture, so despite the darker notes, the Foggy Night Swizzle still feels crisp and easy to drink.
It’s a swizzle for evenings instead of afternoons, for when the air cools but you still want crushed ice and a straw. Familiar form, unexpected direction—a cocktail for those ready to explore.

Ingredients
-
1.5 oz Planteray Mister Fogg Rum #2
-
0.5 oz Tempus Fugit Crème de Cacao
-
0.5 oz Liber & Co cinnamon syrup
-
1 oz roasted pineapple juice* (recipe below)
-
0.75 oz fresh lime juice
-
Crushed ice
Directions
Add all ingredients into a tall glass and fill halfway with crushed ice.
Swizzle up and down until the drink is thoroughly chilled, combined, and aerated.
Add crushed ice to the top.
Garnish with roasted pineapple, pineapple fronds, and a lime wheel.
Recipe Note
To make the roasted pineapple juice:
Roast sliced pineapple at 350 degrees for about one hour, flipping every 20 minutes to brown all sides. This creates a caramelized, deeper, richer pineapple flavor that adds incredible dimension to any pineapple cocktail.
