Tropical Cocktail
Once upon a time there was a lovely joint in Logan Square in Chicago that had an extensive catalog of rums, including the ones you never even knew you wanted to try. It was called Lost Lake. This cocktail was the bar's eponymous drink, a perfect fusion of everything a person could love about "tiki" (boozy, more-is-more, transporting, amazing garnishes) with the flavors of a contemporary palette. And all of this delivered with flair.
Sadly that joint closed up shop, but at least we haven't lost its namesake drink!
You can still enjoy the flavor of Jamaican rum (Plantation Xaymaca is our suggestion, but if you want to amp up the funk, we can definitely recommend Smith & Cross, which will also make it even boozier) and its favorite dance partners: the bitter from Campari, passion fruit goodness from Chinola, a touch of near-almond flavor sweetness from the Luxardo Maraschino, and freshly-squeezed lime juice to round things out.
Stick an umbrella in it, take one sip, and you can almost feel that tropical breeze.
Ingredients
-
2 oz Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Jamaican Rum
-
.75 oz Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur
-
.24 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
-
.25 oz Campari
-
.75 oz freshly-squeezed lime juice
-
.5 oz pineapple juice
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice and shake.
Pour the entire shaker into a tall glass, top with additional crushed ice.
Garnish as you wish, the wilder the better!
Recipe Note
Passion fruit syrup can be used in place of passion fruit liqueur

So if passion fruit syrup can be used in place of passion fruit liqueur for this drink, why can’t I use passion fruit liqueur in place of passion fruit syrup in Ander’s Classic Hurricane cocktail? Then I only have to buy one passion fruit product.
Please advise
Thanks
