The Harimau: An Original Cocktail featuring Tanglin Gin
Add some herbaceous sweet to the bitter-delicious flavor of Campari, with this excellent, spirit-forward cocktail created by and for Tanglin Gin and served (with a Rosso Vermouth lollipop, pictured here!) at The Tanglin Gin Jungle in Singapore.
The Harimau (which means "tiger" in Malay) showcases everything that's delicious about Tanglin Gin, awarded multiple medals (including platinum!) at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition this year.
Deliciously sweet and surprisingly strong, this cocktail will sneak up on you, just like a tiger in the woods. So don't say we didn't warn you.
Ingredients
1 oz Tanglin Black Powder Gin (or 1.5 oz Tanglin Orchid Gin)
1 oz Campari
.75 oz Rosso Vermouth
.75 oz Averna
Slice of fresh or dehydrated orange to garnish
Method
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with very cold ice. Stir gently for 10 - 12 seconds and strain into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish, sip and enjoy!
Tip from the professionals at the Tanglin Gin Jungle: One large cube of ice in your glass is preferred to many smaller ones. Small ice melts faster, resulting in a more diluted drink, which affects the flavor of the cocktail.
