Cocktail Description

This bittersweet beauty walks the line between herbal complexity and tropical brightness, with smoke curling through every sip.

The Smoky Gentian Sour brings together Suze's distinctive gentian bitterness with mezcal's earthy smoke, while Yellow Chartreuse adds honeyed herbal notes and a touch of sweetness. Fresh lime juice provides the necessary acidity, and pineapple juice softens the edges with its fruity richness, creating a drink that's both sophisticated and approachable. The combination tastes like a sunny afternoon spent in a mountain meadow that just happens to have a campfire nearby—complex, refreshing, and completely captivating.

This is the kind of cocktail you want after a long day when you're ready to slow down and appreciate something interesting, or as a pre-dinner drink that'll wake up your palate without overwhelming it. The recipe is straightforward enough for confident home bartenders, though you'll need to source a few specialty bottles (which are absolutely worth having in your collection). It pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, ceviche, or lighter Mexican dishes where the smoke and citrus can complement rather than compete.

Served up in a Nick & Nora glass with a simple pineapple wedge garnish, it's as elegant as it is flavorful.
