Elote Verde is a cocktail that plays on the delicious combination of flavors found in elote.
Inspired by the popular street snack, which originated in Mexico, this drink is full of bold flavors and unforgettable character. The smoky, savory scent of grilled corn. The tang of citrus. The warmth of spices. The bodacious herbacious of cilantro.
The experience starts with the glass itself, rimmed with smoked paprika and salt, giving you that smoky, tangy hit before the first sip. Then, there’s the fresh sweet corn, muddled to release its natural sweetness and slight creaminess, which brings a texture and flavor that’s earthy, golden, and comforting, like biting into freshly grilled elote.
As you sip, you’ll get the bright zing of fresh lime juice and the smooth, honeyed touch of agave nectar. The tequila’s agave notes blend seamlessly with Empirical Cilantro, an intensely aromatic spirit that adds a savory, herbal depth, making the drink taste as complex and satisfying as a perfect bite of elote.
Just a few dashes of bitters accentuates the subtle smokiness, almost like charred husks, adding depth without overwhelming.
Garnished with a wheel of corn and a sprig of cilantro, Elote Verde is perfect for those looking to bring a little bit of wow to their glass.
