Cocktail Description

This herbaceous twist on a classic sour brings together the earthy punch of muddled rosemary with the bright complexity of Grand Marnier and tart cranberry.

The Rosemary Old Flame balances sweet and sour beautifully, with the orange liqueur adding depth and warming spice notes that play off the piney rosemary, while cranberry juice gives the drink a gorgeous ruby color and fruity backbone. The cane syrup rounds everything out with a subtly richer sweetness than standard simple syrup would provide. This one's ideal for fall and winter gatherings—think holiday parties or cozy evenings by the fire—when you want something that feels festive but isn't cloyingly sweet. Making it requires just a few minutes and basic shaking technique, though you'll want to muddle that rosemary well to release its aromatic oils without turning it bitter. The drink pairs wonderfully with roasted meats, especially lamb or duck, and holds its own alongside sharp cheeses or even rich, savory appetizers like stuffed mushrooms. That herbal element makes it surprisingly food-friendly for a cocktail.
