St. George Absinthe Verte
Taste an absinthe that was 11 years in the making.
Many consider St. George Spirits the forerunners of the entire craft spirit movement. And they are well known for their obsession with the art and craft of distilling.
It reaches its pinnacle with St. George Absinthe Verte, a liqueur that features a balanced blend of robust botanicals that sing in harmony.
"At once classic and innovative" - New York Times
St. George Absinthe Verte is featured in Drinking History episode:
750ml & 120 Proof
|Tasting Notes||"Sweet and floral nose", according to Bon Appétit. From Salon, "a robust flavor", and a go-to in spirits. Imbibe notes St. George Spirits Absinthe has a "balanced and complex finish".|
Ways to Enjoy
Classic: Add one part Absinthe to four parts chilled dry sparkling wine for Hemingway's favorite drink, A Death In The Afternoon.
Unexpected: Pair with RY3 Whiskey for a rum-cask-finished spin on a Sazerac.
Master Distiller Lance Winters spent more than a decade perfecting the distillation of their Absinthe as a side project; the spirits' sale (but not its production) had been banned in the US for nearly a century. In 2007, when the ban was lifted, St. George Spirit introduced Absinthe Verte.
Made from a blend of culinary and herbal ingredients: wormwood, fennel, star anise, and a host of other botanical ingredients in a base of fine brandy, St. George Absinthe Verte is an all-natural expression of this beguiling and highly spirituous elixir.
|Founder Facts||Before there was a craft spirit movement, there was St. George Spirits. Considered by many to be the ones who started it all, this house is particularly known for its gin (though we first fell in love with their green chile vodka.) What you'll always get when you choose St. George Spirits is a steadfast commitment to exceptional craft spirits of character and quality.
