Trader Jay is the president and founder of the Florida Rum Society, so you might say he knows a thing or two about rum. And where you know a thing or two about rum, the Mai Tai is not far behind!
Trader Jay's spin on the classic tropical cocktail leans into the Jamaican Worthy Park at a punchy proof of 109. Orgeat, lime juice, rich simply syrup, and dry curaçao are the rum's tasty counterparts. Shake it all together and what do you get?
That pure island taste.
Prepare yourself-- one sip of this tiki-licious drink and you'll be on the hook to make another Mai Tai before you know it.
2 oz Worthy Park 109 Jamaican Rum
.5 oz Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao
.25 oz Giffard Orgeat Syrup
.25 oz Rich Simple Syrup (2:1 ratio)
.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
Add all ingredients into a shaker with cubed ice and shake vigorously until the shaker is well-chilled and frosty on the outside.
Strain into a double old fashioned glass filled with crushed or pebble ice.
Garnish with spent lime shell and fresh mint sprig.

Only one type of rum seems a little weird for a Mai Tai
