Six Different Ways to Make a Frozen Margarita
All recipes below make a single Margarita, unless stated otherwise.
Classic Frozen Margarita
.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
.75 oz Cointreau
1.5 oz. silver tequila
.5 oz simple syrup
Method: Build in the blender by adding all the ingredients plus ice. Blend. Pour into a salt-rimmed glass
Jimmy Buffett's Margarita
3 lime wedges
1.25 oz Rose’s Lime Juice
1 splash of Orange Curaçao
.5 oz Cointreau
.5 oz silver tequila
2 oz gold tequila
Method: Squeeze 3 lime wedges into blender. Add all the other ingredients, plus ice. Blend. Serve in a salt-rimmed glass.
Beergarita
1 oz freshly-squeezed lime juice
1 oz silver tequila (Greg uses Don Julio)
.25 oz Grand Marnier
.5 oz lime simple syrup
Method: Build in the blender by adding all the ingredients plus ice. Blend. Pour into a salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with upside-down Coronita (7 oz. Corona).
Gregarita
1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
2 oz reposado tequila (Greg uses La Gritona)
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz Lime Simple Syrup
Method: Build in the blender by adding all the ingredients plus ice. Blend. Pour into a salt-rimmed glass.
Frozen Paloma
Makes 2 cocktails - requires prep work, see instructions below
.5 oz freshly-squeezed lime juice
2 oz tequila
.75 oz simple syrup
Method: Ahead of time, freeze grapefruit juice in an ice cube tray until frozen solid. Add three grapefruit juice ice cubes to your shaker. Shake with all ingredients. (If cubes don’t break up in shaker you can add it to a blender for a few seconds.) Salt the rim of your glass with pink salt and some black pepper. Pour drink into the glass and enjoy!
Dave Arnold’s Margarita
2 oz Cointreau
.75 oz Mezcal (Greg uses Bozal)
.5 oz Yellow Chartreuse
.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
10 drops of Lindsay Bitters from Crude Bitters
healthy pinch of salt
Method: Build in the blender by adding all the ingredients plus ice. Blend. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
