Cocktail Description

This is the Mint Julep's sophisticated cousin who shows up to the party in a powdered sugar tuxedo.

The Frosted Bourbon Julep takes the classic Southern sipper and gives it a thorough shake-up—literally—before churning it into an icy, frosted masterpiece. You'll get bright mint aromatics that dance with the caramel and oak notes from Savage & Cooke's cask-finished bourbon, while Giffard's sugar cane syrup adds a round, earthy sweetness that's leagues beyond simple syrup. A few dashes of Angostura bitters tie everything together with warm spice and herbal complexity. The repeated churning technique creates that iconic frost on your julep tin while diluting the drink to silky perfection—expect a cold, refreshing sipper that's strong enough to be interesting but smooth enough to keep you coming back. This cocktail shines at spring garden parties, Derby Day gatherings, or any warm afternoon when you want to feel a little fancy. While the churning process requires some patience and elbow grease, the actual technique is straightforward enough for confident home bartenders. Pair this beauty with grilled pork chops, pecan-crusted chicken, or a cheese plate featuring sharp cheddar and honey—anything with savory richness that'll stand up to all that mint and bourbon.
